SCIA/One to One Aide (San Diego)
A small, private special education school is interviewing SCIAs (special circumstance instructional assistants)/1:1 Aides to fill open positions. We are seeking dynamic, creative individuals who can work effectively with our diverse group of students.

The applicant:
1. Who has a four-year degree or who has completed two years of study at an institution of higher education is preferred but not required.
2. Who has previous working experience with students in special education with emotional disturbances is preferred.
3. Who is bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
4. Should possess a clear, valid California driver’s license and meet the requirements of SB-88 (Medical Clearance Certification and First Aid Certification).
5. Should clearly and effectively communicate; possess strong organizational and computer skills; and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist teacher in all aspects of classroom management and instruction.
- Assist in implementing approved goals, objectives and related lesson plans.
- Assist in responding to behavioral emergencies and in implementing approved behavioral programs.
- Assist in conducting scheduled activities.
- Assist students in all aspects of self-care.
- Maintain accurate data, per program requirements.
- Escort and monitor students as requested.
- Attend scheduled team and staff meetings as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned which may include transporting students on an as-needed basis.
Hours: 7:45 am – 3:15 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 7:45 am – 1:15 pm on Thursdays (May be until 3:45 pm for occasional trainings) (Total of 35 – 38 hours per week)
