Aseltine’s Guiding Light Reaches Milestone
The Angels of Aseltine Auxiliary was founded in 1983 by Betty Mabee, a true champion of Aseltine School who dedicated much of her life to helping Aseltine students thrive.
Originally established as a supportive fundraising arm of the school, the Angels have transformed countless student lives through their generosity. Hosting their iconic fall fashion show, ice cream social, membership tea and many other noteworthy events, the Angels have raised and donated more than $2 million for Aseltine School since their inception.
The Angels and this recent, overwhelmingly generous milestone makes Aseltine’s mission possible, and we simply would not be where we are today without their unwavering dedication. For our most underserved, vulnerable students, Aseltine is often the first, and sometimes only, place where they receive the support and encouragement they need to develop healthy mindsets and skills.
This impressive landmark also represents the tenacity, strength and ambition of the Angels and the larger Aseltine community. It is because of the Angels that Aseltine is able to provide these students with the specialized programming and services they need to succeed in school, and, most importantly, in life.
As their history would indicate, over the years this group of impactful women have become a complete extension of Aseltine School. Members of the Angels of Aseltine Auxiliary spend time connecting and mentoring our students in the classroom, serving as pillars of the school community that our students admire and get excited to see each week.
They also volunteer their time and talents to help with school events and student needs. From helping set up for the Thanksgiving Feast to wrapping presents from Santa at our holiday celebration, attending graduation, and serving on our Board, members of the Angels can be seen in the front row – the biggest cheerleaders for our students, always.
